Dear Hiring Manager:
Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself. As a self- motivated and detail- oriented person with a passion for sales and great customer service, I am also experienced handling financial acumen and P & L at every level.
I am a team leader, and have also successfully managed others, and am happy to provide you with professional references at your request.
After bartending and managing restaurants, my career began as a Sommelier at the renowned Occidental Restaurant in Washington, DC, where I was awarded the restaurant’s first Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. After five years, I was offered a position as Wine Manager at Forman Brothers Distributor (now RNDC), where I managed a team of eleven and a vast portfolio of domestic and imported wines. I also played a crucial role with onboarding new and exciting wine companies within our portfolio! The position included all pricing, depletions, distributor and supplier meetings, arrangements of supplier and winemaker visits, incentives, sales meetings, sales team reviews, and a large presence with account visits/sales in the marketplace.
My next offer came along with Baron Eric Rothschild/Chalone Wine Estates as Regional Sales Manager for the mid-Atlantic and northeast (eleven states), where I spent the next nine years managing all aspects of each distributor and increased sales substantially. With the sale of Chalone to Diageo forthcoming, I went back to school (licensed esthetics and post grad additional medical-related studies) and took a break from beverage industry sales to work for a plastic surgeon.
Ferrari-Carano offered me a position as Northeast Regional Sales Manager, and I also added Canada into my experience at the request of Rhonda Carano. Since the winery did not understand the process of selling wine in Canada, I researched and onboarded new distributor agents and managed to sell wine into six provinces in 2019. I worked entirely alone in my territory, with sales growth of +38% during my seven years with the company.
Throughout my career, I have demonstrated the ability to be a perpetual networker and a hands-on leader, with the ability to manage others to get the job done. With my overall experience, I do not disappoint, and can be “up and running” very quickly. This is the perfect fit for me.
I am strategically located and reside ten minutes away from an airport, train station and Interstate 95.
It would be a pleasure to discuss everything with you at your convenience. Thank you for your time.
Regards,
Cathy Harrison
