About the Role & Responsibilities

We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated sales leader to represent Lunar with external partners while developing and managing the strategy and day-to-day activities of the sales team. This is a great opportunity for a rising star to join a growing team and shape the overall sales strategy to build a rapidly growing brand from the ground up.

Our Senior Director of Sales reports directly to our founders and is responsible for all aspects of sales and distribution in the wholesale market. This leader is responsible for growing revenues by increasing our sales within our existing customer network and by developing and expanding our customer base. The candidate must have proven success in sales forecasting and planning by geography/SKU, over periods of time (month/annual/3YR), understand how to tell stories and connect with consumers, as well as be effective in engaging distributor support and execution.

The Senior Director of Sales is responsible for creating sales goals and KPIs that ladder up to meet the overall

business objectives and growth targets.

Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Oversee and manage the wholesale division of our company, working with our distributors to maximize sales
  • Build, foster and maintain strong relationships with distributors and key retailers in our distribution footprint
  • Work closely with the founders to design sales strategies to increase share of mind, points of distribution, and sales velocity
  • Lead, manage and develop our sales team, including setting and monitoring goals and sales directives to drive revenue in representatives’ designated territories and hiring new team members
  • Develop and maintain the highest quality standards of retail executions in order to deliver annual sales goals.
  • Build and execute on weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales plans
  • Consistently assess the effectiveness and impact of marketing on sales goals
  • Manage and execute upon chain business, including chain mandates, authorizations, new item presentations, and display programs
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key retailers/accounts both on and off premise
  • Design a sales staff process that maintains and nurtures robust, long-term customer relationships
  • Develop and manage merchandising strategy and execute on point of sale materials & in-store marketing collateral
  • Build, implement and execute sales presentations to distributors
    • Analyze monthly distributor depletion reports
    • Represent Lunar at festivals, tastings and events
    • Develop future growth and market expansion strategies.
    • Hold the team accountable for deadlines & sales targets while ensuring the work is of the best quality to rise against the noise
    • Allocate resources to maximize impact

    The ideal candidate:

    • Has a minimum of 5 years experience managing a sales team in craft beer/RTD/hard seltzer
    • Has a strong knowledge of the hard seltzer, RTD and/or craft beer industry and market dynamics
    • Must be highly organized with strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to independently build customer and team rapport
    • Must possess a valid driver license, excellent driving record and a reliable automobile
    • Must have a flexible work schedule and a willingness to travel on a regular basis
    • High and excitable energy for taking on new challenges with a hands-on attitude
      • A team-first & success-oriented attitude with a growth mindset
      • Understanding or empathy to develop an understanding of AAPI culture
      • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
      • Ability to handle and maneuver 30lb. cases
      • Experience with VIP iDig/Karma, Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets

      Compensation and Benefits:

      • Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with applicant’s previous experience
