We are currently seeking highly qualified candidates for a Regulatory Compliance Analyst to join our team in Woodinville, WA. The Regulatory Compliance Analyst will conduct analyses and reviews to support and monitor the Company’s business operations. This position advises internal clients on compliance with federal and state beverage alcohol laws and regulations, reviews advertising, and liaises with federal and state regulators. It will also assist with license, contract, and trademark portfolio management.
What you will do:
Review advertising materials to ensure compliance with federal and state alcoholic beverage laws and regulations, as well as wine industry self-regulatory standards
Conduct basic legal research and advise internal stakeholders regarding trade practice matters and proposed promotions, including: coupons, sweepstakes and contests, tastings, sponsorships, winemaker dinners, winery events, and various other marketing initiatives.
Assist with the preparation, filing, and renewals of TTB applications, state and local licenses, and other regulatory filings, and communicate appropriately with TTB and state regulators as needed
Investigate and respond timely (including, where appropriate, recommending potential alternatives) to internal clients that include Sales, Marketing, Guest Services, Communications, Creative Services, and Winemaking personnel.
Create and update proprietary trade practice guides and self-help resources on beverage alcohol and other regulatory compliance topics
Interface with various departments and work on cross-functional teams
Provide first-rate customer service to internal clients and import partners for issues pertaining to trade practice, advertising, promotion, label, licensing, and other compliance issues
Support the Sr. Manager, Regulatory Compliance with projects and other initiatives as assigned
Police company trademarks, including review of weekly watch and label reports
Assist with maintaining an accurate docket of all company trademarks and submitting requisite filings in a timely manner
Assist with contract administration, processing, and management, including the company’s contracting system and database
What you will bring:
Understanding of alcohol-specific state and federal laws and regulations
Strong business process skills and the ability to multi-task and balance competing priorities.
Wine or other alcoholic beverage industry experience preferred
Ability to communicate complex legal compliance concepts clearly and concisely to business clients
A high degree of organization and keen attention to detail
Ability to work independently and creatively to solve problems with a can-do attitude
Proficiency with Office 365 programs
Contract management experience preferred
Experience filing, prosecuting, and maintaining trademarks at the USPTO preferred
Proficiency using trademark search and watch systems and docketing systems preferred
