The Strategy Director is responsible for helping to develop, drive and implement strategy for the Beer Division and overall for Constellation Brands. This individual will work closely with the SVP, Strategy, and senior Beer leadership and the EMC to develop the Beer Division’s annual and long-range strategic plans. The Strategy Director will also partner with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and communicate action plans to drive strategic imperatives as well as execute and measure progress against key strategic initiatives. In addition, the Strategy Director will lead ad-hoc, strategic projects for the Beer division and for overall Constellation. The Strategy Director will also manage a Strategy Manager and several Strategy Analysts and will direct their work as well as Managers / Analysts across the broader Strategy team.
Collaborate with senior leadership to develop the long-term strategic plan and road-map for the Beer Division
Support the SVP, Strategy with planning, design, due diligence, and implementation of strategic initiatives. Define and communicate strategies and tactics to achieve those goals
Improve visibility of strategic projects occurring across the Division and track and manage key strategic initiatives
Lead evaluation and project management of certain strategic initiatives
Prepare executive management / board level presentations summarizing findings and recommending actions to take
Lead ad-hoc, strategic projects as they arise – examples of projects may include:
Business / brand strategy refreshes
Strategic model development
Process mapping / redesign
Foster goal alignment by collaborating with Communications team to drive awareness, understanding, and ownership of strategy throughout the entire Beer Division
Manage and develop a Strategy Manger and several Strategy Analysts
7+ years combined work experience
Experience managing and mentoring direct reports
Project Management experience
Excellent communication skills required (both verbal and written)
Very strong analytical skills and business acumen – ability to rapidly come up to speed on new issues and identify the critical questions to be addressed
Excellent project management skills – ability to structure a complex issue and rapidly identify and test hypotheses
Strong communications skills and ability to communicate and influence all levels in the organization, including a broad base of finance and business partners
Sufficient influence to effectively resolve issues and ensure business and resource commitment
Demonstrated ability in leading/managing projects (with other functional areas, peers) and direct reports
Very strong people management skills – ability to lead and develop a team
Comfort working through ambiguity and in a rapidly changing environment
Degree preferably in Business, Finance or Accounting
Top tier M.B.A. preferred
Beverage Alcohol / Consumer Goods experience preferred.
Management consulting experience preferred.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Physical Requirements: Requires the ability to stand, walk, climb stairs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. It also requires sitting, operating a computer keyboard, telephone and other equipment, reading, talking and hearing for extended periods of time.
Travel Required: Must be flexible in work style and schedule: travel up to 10%.
