Director of CPG Sales

Position Summary:

The Director of Consumer Packaged Goods Sales is responsible for the entire Trillium packaged alcohol portfolio, including profitability, business strategy, process development, and new product launches. This role will be responsible for launching our new line of spirits, currently in development, including product conception and packaging, go-to market strategy, and consumer demand and feedback analysis. You will continue to develop spirits in the ever changing landscape of CPG alcohol sales. You will also be responsible for maintaining the integrity and quality of our packaged beer portfolio.

Roles and Responsibilities

Sales and Profitability

  • Creating and driving the sales strategy of our packaged beer and spirits, through our own direct to consumer channels
  • Accountable for the quality and management of limited wholesale partnerships
  • Design annual product release schedule to optimize sales and production efficiencies
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement key sales processes and workflows
  • Optimize product availability at each location based on available storage constraints and location-specific sales mix
  • Ensure sales readiness for all products with appropriate education and training materials
  • Design product placement in our own retail outlets in conjunction with Director of Food & Beverage

Product Development

  • Accountable for the launch of Trillium’s spirits program
  • Responsible for new product development from conception to execution
  • Work cross functionally with the Marketing team to gain consumer insights, conduct product research, and adapt business strategies to achieve market demands
  • Conduct thorough business analysis and research on macro trends, competitors, consumer interests, and pricing


  • Inspire a passionate team culture in support of consistent execution of Trillium’s goals
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement & education, and strive for operational excellence by collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Lead, inspire, and educate the Operations team to achieve their defined goals and results, consistently monitoring performance and creating personalized development plans if needed
  • Ensure accurate and effective communications of our spirits program development and launch with internal stakeholders
  • Identify appropriate training and/or coaching opportunities and follow-up to ensure effective, legally compliant, and consistent resolutions are reached
  • Provide positive, actionable solutions when faced with challenges


  • Minimum 6+ years of sales experience with consumer retail products
  • Alcohol beverage sales experience required; direct to consumer experience preferred
  • Proven experience in product launches
  • Strong understanding of consumer behaviors influenced by product packaging, pricing strategy, and consumer psychology
  • Exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented with process-oriented thinking
  • Strong capacity to both lead and participate in cross-functional teams to define issues and agree on processes, strategies, and outcomes
  • A self-motivated approach, with strong work ethic, requiring limited oversight
  • Ability to travel between various Trillium locations throughout New England
  • Flexibility to work remotely one day per week

Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
