We are currently hiring a Brand and Executional Manager – Wild Leaf in Boston, MA.
Responsible for the development and growth of the Wild Leaf Brand in year one and beyond. The role will be responsible for growing Wild Leaf initially by driving excellent retail execution in market launches, merchandising, sampling and sales programs with our retailer and wholesaler partners in priority markets. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and results oriented, persuasive with excellent selling capabilities and the ability to create and implement programs that drive execution in the marketplace. Must be capable of calling on and influencing the Boston Beer sales force and distributor partners to carry and support the brand. The Brand Manager will be responsible for gathering and generating the insights from in market and other involvement that will underpin the strategy for the next phase of growth for this brand in year 2 and beyond. Working with Digital Manager, manage the ecosystem of brand communications across channels. Extensive travel required to drive the successful launch in 2019 and likely beyond.
What You’ll Do:
Deliver sales results in the launch markets that will convince national chains to support Wild Leaf in 2020 Spring resets with extensive distribution
Develop, drive and implement a plan for driving sustainable, long-term growth for the brand through focused and effective sales, marketing, and innovation plans
Champion the Wild Leaf brand with motivating communications at all levels of our route to market: Internal Sales, Wholesalers, Retailers
Guarantee organized and impactful launches of Wild Leaf in focus markets by selling-in detailed market plans and driving results with in-person market visits
Create and drive execution of impactful retail programs including but not limited to channel relevant POS, cross-merchandising and price promotions
Inspire and drive our wholesaler partners to carry and support the Wild Leaf brand with compelling and motivating selling stories
Build a strong understanding of and relationship with internal and external customers
Leverage insights from sales, wholesalers, retailers and consumers
Create cross functional teamwork and collaboration
Working with Creative, lead the creative packaging process for the brand
Help agency relationships and creative development process where appropriate
Monitor and review competitor activity, providing clear insights and implications for the brand
Informing the Digital team, ensure that we have strong and consistent digital content for the brand
Ensure that the business is kept up to date on competitor creative, content and media strategies, identifying key implications for the brand
Deliver Content on time and within budget for the current fiscal and requirements for following year within agreed planning timelines
Act as a thought leader, ensuring that the business is kept up to speed with cutting edge developments in the world of consumer content
Manage specific content related tasks including:
Fact-checking any and all facts used in any way when communicating with consumers, whether via advertisements, PR, promotions, trade marketing, etc.
Competitor tracking and database management
Brand historical reel kept up to date, including research results
Provide input on product development from concept work with brewers to forecasting and package development
Help manage the development of all selling materials
Utilize IRI and depletions data to develop and support compelling selling stories and rationale for product recommendations, volume forecasts and project recaps
Develop plans based off the successful markets and then drive these ideas across the US
Develop pricing analysis for the brand and ensure pricing strategy is implemented in market
Evaluate success of program and product initiatives based on analysis of costs and benefits to the organization
What You’ll Need:
MBA helpful, but not required
4 + years’ experience in a results-oriented consumer product sales or marketing role
2+ years of sales experience highly desirable
Beverage industry or traditional CPG experience is preferred, but not necessary
Demonstrated ability to drive commercial performance of brands at or above expectations
Proven ability to inspire and lead sales success in a distributor environment
Proven experience in project planning and management, budgeting and financial analysis desirable but not necessary
Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data, add value and provide action-oriented recommendations in-line with business objectives
When available participate in consumer insights through quantitative and qualitative market research and translate into creative marketing initiatives
Must have proven inter-personal and communication skills
Must be highly organized, flexible, self-motivated and able to succeed in a dynamic fast-paced environment
